Earthquake Park

About

Earthquake Park is a 134-acre park established to commemorate the devastating 1964 magnitude 9.2 earthquake.

When you visit the park, you’ll see signs explaining the circumstances of the event and how it affected the area.

This large wooded park is on the coast of Knik Arm, between Hood Creek and Point Woronzof. It offers breathtaking views of the water.

If you plan to bring your dog with you, make sure he’s wearing a leash. You also need to pack poop bags, so you can clean up after your dog.

There are waste bins around the park where you can dispose of used bags.

You can also enjoy a picnic at Earthquake Park. It’s also a good spot for bike rides, long walks, and cross-country skiing.

Don’t miss a chance to explore the trails on-site. You can visit the park’s website for important announcements and more information about local events.
